Good vehicle, clean, easy pick-up and drop-off. Wish I had known how to disable the toll receiver, because budget charges a lot of money for that. However, charges on the credit card are fishy. I pre-paid rent and insurance, but got a vague "non-pkg items" charge of 80$. After complaining, I got explanation that that is for fuel, while I had asked for full-to-full policy. They then refunded the charge, but on the same day made the same charge again, now from another budget office. Still don't have my money back, get all kinds of mails for more details on the credit card transactions, but no fix.

Seemingly everything that could’ve gone wrong happened too. I was given a completely different car that was awful on gas, told the car was full with gas but it was at 3/4 tank (of a 24 gallon tank). The car wreaked of air freshener, no washer fluid so couldn’t see through the windshield the whole drive. Got blackmailed about a cleaning fee when dropping off. The person checked out the car in the first place was the only positive experience. Will not be renting from Budget again.

The car smelled like weed whenever it was humid or had been sitting overnight. The carpet was sticking out and had clearly been pulled up on the passenger side and there were stains on the seat. Other than that the car was fine and the staff were very friendly

However I reserved a truck and the did not have a truck available.
Desk agent attempted to up-sell every markup possible. Did not even present the options of not purchasing insurance, attempted to add a driver (my wife) without my consent, pushed excessive toll package despite knowing route had minimal tolls, and even said “what if something bad happens to you” when I continuously declined these frivolous packages.

Waited for 45 minutes in a long line to rent my car. Missed an important meeting.
I showed up to find out there were no cars available even with the reservation. After leaving the airport I was able to make another reservation about 2 hours later. There is no way to call the Representatives at the airport to find out if there were in fact cars there. So I called what must have been an Alamo corporate office and was assured there were in fact cars available. I then went back to the airport to pick up a car to find out there are still no cars available. Alamo enterprise, hertz, the entire fleet at the Syracuse airport was allowing reservations but had no cars to rent. This was an absolutely miserable experience.
We got a different car which has lower value for rent. Neither got the price adjustment nor time adjustment.

I had a terrible experience with Avis. In the past, I’ve had positive experiences, but I can’t say the same this time. When I went to pick up my vehicle, which was a 12 passenger van, I was told that there was no phone number on file to confirm so they did not schedule a van to arrive. I pulled up my confirmation info and could see my email and a valid phone number. The associate insisted that there was none on file. I was very confused since I had even received an email the day before telling me to “enjoy my ride!” There were no other passenger vans available so they were unable to accommodate us that day. This was a trip that had been planned for a long time and I was upset that Avis could not come through. I am very disappointed and will not book through Avis again.

Long lines for pickup due to single Hertz counter that was also serving Dollar customers with onky one agent at counter. Car not cleaned and filthy. No checking process; I still have not received a final bill. Never again using Dollar/Hertz.

The pickup process for Dollar is broken. They make reservations without having the cars to fill them. Every other company had no line, while Dollar had 15 people in line because they had no cars to rent. We waited an hour for a car to “be cleaned” and given to us. The employee was unapologetic and dressed in athletic shorts and a gray T-shirt while giving the impression that he didn’t care. Meanwhile, I returned the car 18 hours ago and I still haven’t seen a turn in receipt in my email. Pay the extra money and rent from someone else.

I reserved weeks ahead of time, but when I got there, thu said that they didn't have a car. They explained that they book many more reservations than they actually have cars for. They didn't seem to care about that policy negatively affecting travelers. I waited for two hours, and was eventually able to get a car. Th clerk wasn't apologetic in the slightest.
