Someone should have been available to give me the car when I got to the garage after completing the paperwork at the rental counter. Instead, I waited in a freezing cold garage for more than 30 minutes before getting someone on the phone who said I had to journey back to the rental counter. Loved the car but disappointed with drop off. Had to leave the car before 10pm at a location that closed at 5pm. Miscommunication on Hertz’s part, which is really an easy fix. Thankfully I was ready earlier to give the car back and had time for a druve way out of my way to return the rental.

My biggest complaint is that we reserved a mid-sized sedan (Toyota Corolla, Kia Forte). The car we were assigned was a Rav 4 SUV, which was not at all what we wanted. To add insult to injury, the car was stolen our third morning in Montreal. Customer service was not helpful, and we spent much of one day trying to figure out how we were supposed to replace the car so that our vacation could proceed. We finally returned to the airport (a $60+ cab ride), where the manager was able to get us set up with another vehicle - another SUV, unfortunately. The remainder of our visit was relatively uneventful, and Alamo was accommodating after the fact, but their customer service needs to be revised.
car needed oil replacement - leak in the back window, breaks making noise, no windscreen cleaning product, no cover for the boot of the car !!! when tried to explain this, the guys said : so what ?

Promised me a standard car(Jetta) before taking my cc and drivers license. Tried to up-sell me to an import luxury, I refused. He dropped me down to a compact car and said “He can do anything, he can even give me economy” I refused to proceed with the rental and went elsewhere.
Everything was fine. The personal courteous reception was nice.

The pick up and drop off process was straightforward and painless, and the agents were fluent in both French and English, which I appreciated because I speak English (I am always ready to try in French, but after only a few words, French speakers in Quebec can tell immediately that I am anglophone, and they switch to English right away). The vehicle was in excellent condition and performed flawlessly for the two weeks we had it. I would gladly use National again.

I booked online through Kayak, who set up a vehicle through National. The pick up at National was quick and easy. The vehicle was very clean, no issues with the car or weird sounds. It made the long drive a lot more enjoyable. Price was good. Only downside was the winter tires were taken off a little soon, ran into some gross weather.
Although pick up was slow because they seemed extremely understaffed. There were a lot of customers with booked cars but only two employees . Thankfully the two that were available tried very hard to make everybody happy. The car was great and return was smooth.

Pickup and drop off were swift. No major problems with the car, however there was a bad smell in the vehicle. We had to buy an air freshener to get rid of it. We told the management upon arrival and they did give us a discount on our reservation.

They gave our vehicle away. The serviceman was rude and refused to help find another vehicle for my family. Other enterprise locations say they aren’t allowed to do so. A complaint will be made.
The Avis reps at both ends were fantastic. Helpful and patient in every possible way, so taking all the stress out of what can be a rushed and uncertain event. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to review a car hire, that's how good they were.

To our surprise, the office was closed when we arrived around midnight. We had to sleep on benches until the staff arrived at 7 AM. One of the tires was leaking air, so I drove 2 hours round trip from where I was staying to the airport to get a new car. I requested a free day, but they only gave me a $50 credit (I was paying $175/day for the car). The new car I got was not full, about 8 liters low. Chiselers.

We were able to upgrade to larger cars at the airport, the cars were clean and drove well, 2, a Dodge Charger and a Doge Caravan had enough space for 10 of us, with luggage. We appreciated getting a one way booking on line, for one day, from Montreal to Newark as our flights got cancelled twice. Price and efficiency of vehicles could be better, but we appreciated that they were available.

Very long wait times, car had lots of cosmetic damage that wasn’t pre marked adding more time to pickup process.
First of all....I requested unlimited mileage, 8 passenger Honda Odyssey.....but the mileage was not unlimited and my destination was out of province!.....and yhe minivan only had 7 seats....I was late picking up my reservation and the vehicle still wasn't ready....😮💨🤦🏾♀️

Economy Car Rental did not have a car available for me because they messed up on their reservation system. They did not even call me to let me know before I showed up. I ended up having to scramble to find another rental at double the price of what I had booked two months prior. As for the customer service guy, he couldn’t care less about the error and told me all you have to do is look at the negative reviews and add one if you want. Never again.
