Car felt old.
Did not have my car ready or available. Told me it wouldn’t be available until the next day.
Not up front pricing, when rental was returned we had to pay for the insurance
As soon as I walked out of customs, I easily found the Sixt counter and asked about a shuttle to the rental agency. The representative told me exactly where to go (outside), and there was an air-conditioned shuttle waiting for me, which I was whisked into (while dozens of very overheated tourists looked on enviously). Might have just been my good luck but it was awesome. At the agency, there was a bit of a line, but the person who helped me out was efficient and professional. I was given a brand-new car, and when I brought it back a week later, found out that it had a leaking tire (I had run over a nail). Sixt handled it calmly and didn't charge me anything (obviously it wasn't my fault but rental agencies can try to charge you for anything). I rented a car from a different agency a month ago (also in Mexico but in a different part), and it was twice as expensive. The staff at Sixt was really nice and attentive.
They sent us an email DURING my flight to los cabos, telling me that due to “reasons beyond their control” they had to cancel my rental service. No substitute option or nothing
