The Payless counter representative worked with me to get a car when we arrived. She didn’t refuse a car when she found no reservation.
I explained to the representative at the airport counter that we had a reservation at the Kaya Sura Mahuma address. It took awhile to figure out 1) she had no reservation on her computer for us and 2) the address given on the reservation was their main office that had been closed for awhile. She informed me also that there’s no shuttle over to that address anyway so it would’ve been a considerable walk in the heat, not an airport site pickup as promised online. She still worked with me to get me a car, failing to tell me that it would cost more until after she had completed the reservation. She explained, though, that her manager would look over the higher cost of the rental and give me my agreed-upon amount the next day when he arrived at the office. Only after we had keys in hand and were ready to drive off did she explain that the additional cost was for getting it at the airport (on which I really had no other choice) and that the manager would probably not reduce the price (which he didn’t). I said I would have to take this up later. They also had only one person working the counter so when we dropped off, we had to wait several minutes for another family to pick up their car before the rep could come out and inspect and complete my car return. Thank goodness we arrived at the airport hours before our flight and that it was early before others flew in to pick up theirs, so that we didn’t miss our flight!
