I was not impressed with this company at the Split airport location. They charged me $120 USD for a dent that clearly wasn’t from me as there was no paint scratches on the car. I got the feeling they intentionally leave items off the inspection to repeatedly charge customers. I also got charged $100 USD because you cross into Bosnia on the drive from Split Dubrovnik. You have to and there is no boarder crossing fee at that particular point. They claim it was for a green card, but their card already has a green card. Again, I was not happy with them and felt they were just trying to squeeze out more money.
This is an obvious scam, the salesmen will not let you leave with a car unless you purchase "optional" insurance (alternative is a 4000 euro deposit on the car). Was really disappointed to see such a shady business practice happening at a big name rental agency. This branch of Budget/Avis should be terminated and put into new ownership. Do not promote this company on your site, there are plenty of Google Reviews similar to mine. Avoid at all costs.
We rented a car for our trip across Croatia. They were extremely expensive and when we came back there was a little scuff on the bottom of the plastic molding around the wheel well and he hast to fill out an incident report it took 30 minutes to return the car he said it would take two or three minutes. Almost missed our flight. Make sure if you rent from any of these companies Do you work every single single little Nick on the car because they come back to try to get money from you after. Thankfully I had to insert Sherance which cost me about $160 US for two weeks so they went through that but otherwise I’m sure I would be paying a few hundred dollars for something I could have wiped off or marked before I picked up the car
