We’ve booked the car rental , but when we get there there was no vehicle available . Unless we arre pay extra to get different car that we’ve booked.we refused and we end up taking a taxi that cost us $60 back to the airport to rent one from the airport office Karina and Fernando was helpful to help us . There’s have been a lot of issues with small rental companies we were told by different guests that they have been ripped off from these companies when customers showed up and have no choice. You have to do something if you want more customers. Just be honest .

We had to come back 2 hours Later and no one was there. Unbelievebel !
The agent misrepresented what we had booked and included unnecessary charges that we did not understand because they were in pesos. As a result , we paid almost double the amount of our reservarion. We got scammed.

Our flight was delayed in landing and by the time we made it to the check in desk at hertz our car was no longer held. I was informed that the policy was for hertz to hold it only 60 minutes after the my check in time. We had 6 passenger so we need at least that many seat belt. A vehicle was eventually found for us but not until I was up sold over $600 at the counter. I’m not sure why we bothered to hav a reservation to only be gauged and delayed. Thankfully our 3 year old’s iPad’s battery didn’t die.

Dodge SUV was a very comfortable car for a 6,000km trip across the Mexican Sierras. Modern technologies in a nice package. Insurance a bit pricey but overall worthy experience. Staff was friendly despite huge traffic and many customers.

Renting in Mexico is a nightmare. When I declined their “optional” insurance, they put a &2,200 hold on my credit card. In order for them to remove the hold on my credit card I was forced to take the insurance. Credit card holds are typically $250. Hertz Mexico has lost their minds. When I told them to just keep the rental and I would find transportation, he then told me I would have to pay at least one day because he had written the contract. Absolutely terrible service!

Car reserved wasn’t available, they bring another car from another company, was 3 times more expensive and we waited 3.5 hours to get possession … Will never going to use it again …

Worst car rental experience ever: - 3 hours to pick-up the car - shadiness in costs, ending in paying more than 300 € for 24 hours rent - drop off guy even claimed I damaged the car and made me pay extra (even if I paid an insurance)
Horrible. They tried to charged $1100 in insurance on top of the price. I’m still waiting on my refund.

An absolute rip off. Prices are not accurate. Salesmen try to force you into expensive insurance (over $100 per day) and after going back and forth for an hour they said, ok but you have to put a $13,000 hold on your card to rent. Ended up just leaving without the car. Would NEVER use this company in the future and would recommend my friends and coworkers steer clear of this absolute joke of a company. Stick with reputable car rental services like Enterprise, Avis or Hertz.

The car was fine. It didn’t have central locking which was annoying. It was pretty battered too but was serviceable and did the job. Pick up was relatively straightforward. The real problem came on return. We had been unexpectedly held up in the centre of Oaxaca because several vehicles had been hijacked and strategically dumped around the centre, bringing the city to a standstill. As a result, what should have been a 15 minute drive became 2 hours. When we got to the europcar office, we explained our predicament and that we only had an hour until our flight was due to depart and could they possibly get us to the airport asap. They shrugged and said it will take 10 minutes to go over the car in detail and they can’t help - even though I had fully comp insurance cover. They then deliberately took their time - 2 guys standing about joking and the other VERY slowly making his way around the car. 10 minutes became 15. He would stop occasionally to join in the joke (I videoed part of this process as it was outrageous). We had spilled a drink in the car and he explained that we would have to pay £90 to have it cleaned, presumably a process they would do anyway. We had no choice as the minutes were ticking. Eventually we were given a very slow bus ride to the airport and unsurprisingly we did miss our flight. By 5 minutes. I honestly thought that europcar was a reliable brand - the McDonald’s of car hire, but alas they failed big time. I had additional costs all over the place as a result, running into hundreds of pounds. Eouropcar had an opportunity to really excel and go the extra mile, but instead they have annoyed a regular customer to the extent that I will avoid the brand and their affiliates, regardless of price, from now on.

We paid 140 Eur in advance for the car, but it isn’t visible on the final receipt. We were told to pay a huge amount of money for the insurance - it was 3-4 times more expensive then the car itself and this price was not expected at all. We had to leave 500 usd deposit and they said that we will get it back in 4 days. 4 days has passed and the deposit is still not refunded.
The car was clean pick up easy except for drop off.
Before leaving when I picked up the car I specifically asked about the gas—whether or not I had to bring it back with a full tank and they said no. Turns out I did and was charged crazy high price for gas when I returned it.
We rented 2 cars, they told us they didn't have one of our cars available so they said they would give us something similar which was fine. We waited hours to get our car and when we had our cars ready to go the smaller one wasn't even what they told us they would give us. Plus, for each you have to give a down deposit of approximately 3000$ usd each. Even if we had insurance for both cars we still had to give a deposit. It's insane. We had 2 cars and total amount of deposit was close to 7000 usd $. Returning the cars was easy though. We didn't get our deposit back after 2 days ... i cant wait to see about that they said it can be up to 96 hours....

They are attempting to charge me for some body damages that were there previously at the the time I picked up the car. The Person (Guadeloupe was her name at Cancun Airport) made note of the damages after we examined the vehicle at pickup time but when I returned the car the notes were not on Avis documentation. They are holding my deposit of US $ 3000.00 for “investigation” after I protested and told them I DID NOT SCRATCHED THE VEHICLE and the small damages were there at pickup time. Either there is a mistake or it’s a scam to generate more revenue for this location in Cancun. Very bad experience and I hope my deposit will be returned.

The information on where the rental Car pick up and the cost were incorrect information. We arrived at the pick up site we made the reservation for and there was no Avis site and they called to say that it was only for guests of a particular hotel and that we would have to pay extra to get the car. It cost us more than double the price we signed up for and cost us hours of our time and having to pay extra taxi costs to return the car. Very aggravating experience!

I was overcharged for my car rental. AVIS Mexico robbed me
It felt like they scammed me with a rental that went from $124CAD to $376. I only included liability insurance and 2 carseats for 2 days what I was quoted ahead of time by Dollar, $238 plus $60 total for the seats. But they don't tell you on the website that there is a 29.5% fees added to that(I assumed maybe 10%), the car seats were out of date, and we never got the car we wanted. We got a beat up Suzuki instead of a Jeep. The problem is after a long flight with 2 small kids and a 2 hr line up at the rental, you'll sign anything to get going.

The price shown when I made the reservation wasn't the one I had once I got there. They charged me a "mandatory" insurance although I already had one with my credit card. It doubled the original price. I won't come back anymore, really poor experience. Also, it was impossible to find the counter, there was no one there at first. Hopefully a lady helped me and said that Hertz and Dollar are basically the same.

Honestly, I didn't know renting an SUV would cost about 1200 upfront 400 would come back to me but I didn't account for that cost so we went with the full-size car for 500 with 150 coming back all this to say read your rental agreement it doesn't say anything about insurance which feels like a rip-off but you must have it so when your planning just account for this charge to be $90/$75/$55

Be careful with renting from Dollar/Hertz, they tried to charge me for unnecessary fees, taxes and insurance, the price doubled from the reserved agreed up amount. At that point it was cheaper to get taxis so we walked away.
