Vehicle had not been cleaned after the previous rental. They ran out of cars and gave me an uncomfortable to ride in truck. I returned the vehicle with a full tank (also noted on the return invoice) and they still charged me a $17.99 refueling charge. I called customer service and asked for a refund of the refueling charge which they promptly credited to my account. The customer service representative volunteered that their system is set up to automatically add this fee for rentals driven less than 75 miles. That’s not in the rental agreement. Lower price than competitors, but annoying experience.

There was nobody at my airport drop off just signed reminding customers to leave the keys in the car! I am still wondering if my drop off is confirmed. It has been over 24 hours since I dropped off the rental car and my credit card has a pending charge that is double my original booking price. If Orlando airport kiosk doesn’t staff anybody at the airport, maybe they shouldn’t advertise a 24 hour facility to help lessen confusions like the one I am wondering right now

Infinity QX5 with broken cruise control on a 4-hour interstate trip. Lucky I didn’t roll through a speed trap. Next morning the the LF tire was alarming as under pressure. All 4 tires were below 30 psig.

The cost of a 2 week rental of a midsize suv was good. The Hertz/Dollar satellite office is not visible from the street. Also, the time it took for someone to be available begin the process of the rental, was longer than expected(10 mins). Maybe they were at lunch.

My paid reservation was set for 12 noon stood in line for three hours yes, three hours no exaggeration until I finally received. My frontal family had to sit in a hot airport for three hours. Totally irresponsible on the car rental company.

There was no experience. Your site allowed us to book a rental car as an alternative mode of transportation home so we stopped looking for other rental cars. When we got to the Dollar counter we found out they weren’t honoring any of the reservations made that day nor would they allow us to leave the state with their cars with our confirmed one way reservations with kayak. I’ll never use kayak again.

I had to wait 2 hours in line to pick up my vehicle. The staff seemed like they were doing the best they could, but it was pretty ridiculous considering I had just gotten off a long flight, then had a 4 hour drive ahead of me. I'm not sure I'd rent from them again unless it was a last resort. The process seemed really inefficient.

I believe front desk agent took advantage of the fact that booking said wild card for the car and assigned EV just to charge upgrade fee in order to get a gasoline vehicle.

Did not have the vehicle that I reserved. After an extended wait for the proper vehicle, the charging port on the Tesla model 3 was faulty and could not be charged. I was able to drive the vehicle from Philadelphia to my destination the first day and then could not use it again. After spending 3 days on the phone with Hertz, they decided to tow the vehicle at 2am and woke up and entire house of people and children. I was supposed to receive my refund 24 hours after the vehicle was towed. 2 days later and I have not received my refund. Completely awful.

Hidden airport fees and wait times for car

I waited over 20 minutes for the Hertz shuttle to pickup from the arrivals terminal in Philadelphia. It was raining and cold. All of the other rental companies had shuttle buses that went by at least 5-6 times while we waited for the Hertz bus. I tried to call the Philly airport Hertz location but nobody picked up and it went to voicemail. Eventually, I convinced another rental car bus driver to drop us off near (he said he wasn't allowed to drive on the Hertz lot) the Hertz rental center. So, after waiting almost half an hour in the cold rain, we were dropped off and had to walk the last few hundred yards through a downpour to the rental office. Renting and paying wasn't a big deal but there was no introduction to the Tesla controls (I've never driven one before) so I had to park and come inside to request the person to show me how to operate the wipers. Overall, it was frustrating and a huge waste of time waiting for them after a long travel day.

This was the worst rental car experience I've ever had.2.5 hours at the agency to pick up a car that I preordered online. Building was not air conditioned, no process followed, 2 agents with over 20 people in line, no one to bring cars or demonstrate basic use, cars just left running in the lot, no one to answer questions, wrong car was given. Never use thrifty at Philadelphia airport again!

The online booking process was horrible. The onsite agency was short staffed, rude and took 2+ hours to release a pre booked car. The site had no air conditioning and I was 30th inline on arrival. There was no one to demonstrate the car electronics and contols including GPS, radio, windshield wipers and flashers. No one told me my rental car was ready, it was left running in the parking lot for 30 minutes while I stood outside waiting for it to arrive.

Never again - is the only rental company that does require you.to see 2 ID incl passport, does a soft credit check, wanted to see my incoming and departing flight Information and so on Words then the immigration authorities just to grt a car - thanks bit others like Budget are much easier and customer friendly

We waited in line 2 hours to get to an agent. Then waited another 20 minutes to get the car. I paid for it in advance, but there was no honoring the reservations we have first. I’ve never seen anything like this- truly unreal.

After confirming the rental/putting through the payment, the price was "adjusted" to add $40. When I got to pick up the car, it turns out the cost had actually doubled from $200 to $400ish, with an additional $200 charge that would be refunded. So I had to hand over 3x as much money as they said I would. Obviously, I didn't have a choice. Felt like highway robbery. Disgusting.

The key stopped working the night before we were supposed to return it car cannot be locked unlocked or started other than to auxiliary power definitely threw a wrench in our plans and a little bit of stress as we had a 6 AM flight the next day luckily roadside assistance was able to deliver us a new car at 11 that night.

The initial phone reservation contact was confusing to me and that I felt kind of boxed in to renting a “luxury “card which I actually did not want because I was going to be down at the shore for two weeks out of that months rental and that did not feel appropriate for me. Apparently after another follow-up phone call to see if I could actually reserve a more practical car for me like Honda or Toyota, I was told basically that I had to wait until I arrived to change that which I found odd. However, I could not have asked for a better experience at the Philadelphia national car rental location. The on site manager who’s name unfortunately I have forgotten and the attendant were exemplary with me. They made me feel that they would accommodate my request without any hesitation. The staff there could not have been better !
