I was about 2 hrs late and they charge me for another day and I called and told him that I couldn’t make it back by 9 AM that morning. I had to drive from West Palm Beach but they still charge me $128 for two or three hours. I think that’s just a little damn greedy.

I can can’t remember ever renting with Alamo, so this was essentially my first time. As noted, I booked online via Kayak, however when I arrived at CLT airport rental facility. The initial Alamo customer service representative was very rude and unfriendly. I believe she charged me a $400 dollar deposit because I was black. Due to the fact I was pressed for time I didn’t argue, I just paid the deposit and moved on in the moment. However, afterwards I re-reviewed the steps and information provided during the booking reservation process and no where was there language stating a policy regarding a the potential for a deposit. Again, I didn’t argue in the moment but the initial representative had an unkind attitude. However, everyone I encountered after leaving the checkin area were very pleasant people to talk to. If I wasn’t pressed for time the initial interaction could have forced me to make other rental arrangements. I am a premier Avis member so I could have simply walked 20 feet to the Avis counter.

Even though i had done the pre check in I still needed to go to the desk and wait in line. I dont know why I did a pre check in if I still needed to wait in line to go through all the same process a second time.
We were given a nice car and was able to travel around Florida without any issues, the staff were very friendly.

I used the dealers choice option, as I'm not picky and not a car person. But I didn't know they made cars as low quality as the one that Enterprise Rent-A-Car gave us to drive from Ventura to LAX. It was a tin can toy car, it felt like driving an utv, not a car. There was no sound insulation and every gust of wind knocked the car/made staying in my lane harder and really annoying. I think it was a mitsubishi and the lowest model they must offer. I think a lancer, after looking at google. However, the employees were kind at both locations and quick. So not the worst and it did drive. But I had also used Dealer's Choice with Budget Car in LAX to Ventura, and they gave us a much nicer car, it was either a hyundai elentra hybrid or a toyota corolla hybrid (sorry i'm not a car person and don't remember exatcly, but it was a nice driving experience with good gas mileage and audio).
Signage for where exactly to pick up car could have been better.

The car was absolutely disgusting. Old dried up soda inside the arm rest, the back wasn't vacuumed and there was also an empty water bottle left there. Also found a national park parking ticket for March 22 2026 which was a week before i rented it which im assuming the car wasnt cleaned since then. I have pictures and videos of everything i just mentioned. The jeep itself was great but the service and cleanliness was awful. Unfortunately this will be my last time booking with Sixt.

Avis was great easy pick up and drop off, the car we got was clean and in great condition over all. We realized towards the end of our rental days that the spare tire was flat we luckily we didn’t need to use it.

They charged over $100 more than the $340 I originally purchased. Charge was for one car seat, which is required by law. I went from $340 pre pay to a final bill of $445. Not happy!

1 hour 30 Minutes waiting time at pick up counter with only one, very slow person managing the counter.
1. Expedia sent me to the wrong Nashville location. Hertz told me that there were 2 airport locations. One onsite and the other one which was on airport property but not at the airport. Expedia charged me $54ish for airport pickup, which Nashville Hertz did not put on my bill without my even asking. Cost me $17 Lyft fee to get there 2. Hertz had no cars available at all 3. Had to wait an hour despite being the only person there before they got me a gigantic car 4. The car that was 1/3 full and told me to bring it back at that level 5. The gas cost probably twice what it would have if I had the car I ordered 6. When I returned it as requested 1/3 full to Memphis I was charged $18 for 2 gallons of gas. I have the photos to prove it was an 8 mile difference, impossible to get gas level any closer since the car wasn't full in the first place. My issue is with Expedia, the Memphis Hertz and the Hertz in general not having the car available. The Nashville Hertz staff bent over backwards trying to get a car for me and followed up with me the next day.

I just needed a rental for the day. This location was able to accommodate my last-minute reservation and offered flexible, after-hours drop off so that I could make the most of my reservation time. The front desk staff were super polite, didn’t try to pressure me into any add-ons but instead explained what was available in a way that allowed me to make an informed decision on what was best for me. No pressure. They did not have my class of vehicle in stock so they offered me something a little smaller (and cheaper).The vehicle was clean, free of odors, and drove well. Even with the additional insurance add-on that I opted for, it was still a great prince for the rental. Drop off was a breeze. When I was ready to return the car, I simply parked it in the area neat the office and used the drop-off box to return the key. The following morning I received a return confirmation and receipt. It could not have been any easier or any more convenient. I am very pleased with my experience.

Poor experience on pick up, one hour wait for agent Poor experience with car selection, I reserved a Compact and they said no one available so I HAD TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE FOR THE ONLY ONE MODEL THEY HAD!!! Pick up was terrible, 2 employees on Christmas Eve is ridiculous. Waited in line for an hour and half to get checked in and get the car.
Long, it very friendly check-in process. Very low-end car. No $$ value proposition at all. Kinda really disliked the whole “Payless” experience - next time, I’ll be okay to PayMore. 🤦🏻♂️🤨

Our flight was delayed by and hour and a half so we were late picking up our rental car. I checked the Payless website, which said it is their policy to have your car available the du or your rental during normal business hours, so I didn’t bother calling to let them know we were late. When we arrived, they said they didn’t have our car available and had to put us in a larger SUV that was going to cost $170 more. We needed the car and felt we didn’t have a choice so we paid up. I called them the next day to complain and they refunded half of the $170, but I’m still not going to use this company again. I have never, ever had a car rental company up charge me for a rental car when our original car isn’t available. I would not recommend Payless because they imply they are cheaper based on their name but will then do everything they can to squeeze extra money out of you.

The wait to pick up was very long, almost an hour, just one person at the counter and he was running from the Payless computer to the Avis computer , that was the most irritating. I’m not difficult on the car as long as it has 4 wheels a steering and AC But to comment, the seats were stained, the body was dented and scratched all over which I guess is a good thing nobody will want to steal it. The exhaust was rattling on ideal but only heard it if the windows were down Price was good and that’s what counts to me
