Pick up was atrocious. 90 mins queuing outside the (air- con) office. Then tried to pass off a different car to what was booked (smaller and full electric). When using the car I hit a rock and burst two tyres. Nobody from hertz office would answer the call. No emergency details with the car. And hertz emergency line wouldn't respond either. Ultimately, having stood in 39⁰ heat for over an hour, I made my own arrangements and was then responsible for settling bill for tyres, fitting, truck pick up, taxi home and a second rental whilst we awaited the repairs to be completed. I rented the 2nd car through sixt (hertz affiliated) and some with the hertz figari manager who had no interest in my accident or appalling customer service I had endured because I hadn't "used the hertz emergency assistance"

Everything apart from pickup was great. We had to spend 1.5 hours standing in line to pick the car up. Out of 4 available stands in the Hertz office only 1 was open. There were multiple other car rental companies in the same location and Hertz seemed to be the only one to have such a long queue.

The car I purchased broke down within 30km - the gear box went although it was a new car. The service I then got was the worst I have ever experienced. The numbers given on the card I could not get through to - just message services. When I eventually got help from a local person who had to use his french phone to get through the help was non existent. Waited 2 hours for pick up truck and they only arrived because we took matters into our hands and phoned Renault. I then had a series of different people telling me different things - I had to make all the calls, no one called me back. Staff were very unhelpful. Lack of English didn't help. I will NEVER use Europcar again. I am in the middle of trying to claim money back as I never got another car and had to hire from a different company who were great.

The local rental office did not accepted the reservation we made with Priceline/Kayak. Instead they offered a more expensive contract. Very upsetting.

The price indicated on Kayak and Priceline is significantly different from the price you will have to pay at the counter. Car was clean, but please remember to take pictures of every scratch as their own way of keeping track is rather shady and ambiguous.
