The distance from the airport was unacceptable and dangerous no sign at the airport had to walk to the area where the other providers are located to discover the pick up point was 15 minute walk on the road no walkway/side verge therefore dangerous. Otherwise the car was brand new new and excellent, provided a child seat free of charge, apparently the booking agent failed to provide contact details so Avis could not alert me of the issue.

When we went to pick up the car at the airport in Carcassonne , the female receptionist ( sorry I didn’t get her name) was extremely rude and acted like she might not let us get the car even though we had the reservation. Finally , the paperwork was done and she told us the car was behind the building. I asked her if there was a specific slot and she just smirked and said check every license plate until you find it. Language wasn’t a problem as I have adequate French and she wanted to speak English anyways. The car itself was great though. Europa car just needs to work on the customer interaction. First impressions are important….

We rented a car from Montpellier to Nice. The services at the Montpellier Europcar office were awful! The people working there (Jennifer and another guy) don't know what they are doing. They charged us 170 euros more without explaining it to us. Although the money was not supposed to be deposited, they were! They could not explain what was going on and could not reassure us that we would get them back. We had booked a Fiat 500X and they gave us a Wolswagen T-cross without any notice. The car was ok and thanks to the wonderful guy at Nice Europcar Office the matter was solved.

I never received a contract at the check-out counter despite the attendant saying he sent it twice. The cars were not very clean. And I was charged a fuel charge of 20 euros despite returning the car with a full tank and the confirmation email indicating it was a full tank. I am waiting on a refund from Sixt.

The agent missed damage to the roof and trunk of the vehicle during pick up. I pointed out the damage and she recorded only the damage to the roof. When I returned the vehicle they said I caused new damage to the trunk. I told them I had pointed that out and the damage to the roof when j picked the vehicle up. The agent inspected the vehicle in the early morning when it was still kind of dark outside and she was using her phone light. Basically, they are charging me for damage I did not cause and that they missed.

They called to tell me the car, as equiped, wasn't legal to drive to the scheduled drop off location until after I made the booking, then tried to upsell for more than double the price. When I went to cancel the booking for the unequiped car (within 24 hours of making the online booking), they said the cancellation charge would be $60, but then charged me almost $400. I told them in at least 5 emails I made other arrangements and wanted to cancel, but they kept replying with BS. I am disputing with my CC company.
