Everything was pretty good. I would have liked a bigger car but this one worked well enough. I must have gotten a ticket or charge but I don't know what it is all about. A specific break down of what this charge was and where it happened would be appreciated so that I can understand what happened. The car was clean and in good condition. It drove well and did what I needed to do. The staff was friendly and courteous. I would rent from Avis again.

So I had hire the car for 3 days and I took car to Paris with my family and when I got there I parked the car came back and car was uplifted which was very stress full so police went passed stoped then and asked and thay had said it got recoverd cause there was no insures and there should of been a green slip on window which was out of date there was a white slip which was photo copied I had to pay £180 to get the car out of the compound

The car was very new, clean, comfortable and very economic. I picked it up at the airport and left it there. When I left it I only parked it and left the keys to a box so it was perfect for me since my flight was at 4 o’ clock.

The car had many bumps when I picked it up. The pressure of the front tires was not good and I had to have them checked and inflate them. Since I was not sure about the reliability of the car I requested to exchange the vehicle for another one. The customer service on the phone and on site was not helpful at all and had me go to another city 120 km round trip for nothing since they did not have the same category of vehicle as the one I originally got. For the time spent and all the pain I went through, I requested at least a financial gesture which they refused.

We tried to make a change to our pickup location when we arrived, due to changes to our flight itinerary. We were in Paris, trying to simply move our car pickup from one airport to another. The toll free number we were given was for the US and the call center was CLOSED! Not sure how this is acceptable. The reservation agent in Paris advised we could only rent a new car (at TWICE the price). How is this acceptable? Here we are in a foreign country with no other choice but to rent a 2nd car and now deal with trying to cancel the first reservation. Trust me, we will never use a 3rd party for a car rental again.

The car started making a noise in the engine on the next to the last day of the rental. We called roadside assistance and they sent a mechanic to look at the car and possibly tow it. They arrived within two hours - and took the auto. When we had our concierge at our hotel call Hertz at the Dunkirk office to let them know what was going on - the informed her that if the mechanic determined that the noise was "our fault they would be charging us the $750 deposit that they demanded at rental". They also demanded $181 for fuel (in case we did not fill it up) We had filled up the car just before the noise started. We have not heard from Hertz about their final decision - but we fear that it will cost us close to $1000 to do this rental (on top of the rental cost) We need this resolved ASAP to insure that our funds are returned to us. The car had 6000 km on it when we rented it and we used it for about 500 km We did not abuse the car in any way and did not even go up steep hills or have any rain. The comments from the Dunkirk office were uncalled for and left us very worried that they would blame us for the mechanical problem. Please find out what is going on and handle the deposits that we left with them at the time of rental. Thank you. Connie Lane Christy BTW - we were stranded and had to find alternative means to get back to Dunkirk to take the train that we had reserved. Very scary and frustrating.

First at all they was made wrong reservation, my car must wait me in Beauvais Airport, but actually it was in the downtown which is different place. The more annoying thing was that I must wait more than an hour to open the office, which have 2hours break during the day /12-14:00/. The French must come to the reality and understand finally that is 21 century and to have a nap during the day is not appropriate. Don't mess with these guys
