The car was nice aside from scratch marks on the ceiling (I'm serious) and screeching tires

It was an absolutely terrible experience. I arrived on time and as I arrived was getting a phone call from the facility. They informed me when I walked in that they were calling bc they didn't have a car (I've had this reservation for over a week) and that it would be two hours. That is unacceptable. I booked a car and I had somewhere to be. They then said two other people were waiting too but they would put me ahead of two other customers if I agreed to an upcharge for a more expensive car that was being sent there. I said I didn't feel I should be charged for to accommodate their error but they said they were doing me a favor by putting me ahead of the two other people. What a terrible way to run a business. I agreed but after some push back, again I had somewhere to be. It still took 30 minutes for that car to get there. While we waiting the same person and another employee were making fun of customers calling in on the phone because they thought their questions were stupid. There did not seem to be an sense of urgency about being so behind or anything being done to help the customers who are paying them good money. While waiting they provided me my updated quote. It was as I expected and planned for. We went through the ID stuff etc. Finally the car arrives and I go to pay and they let me know it's the amount they said PLUS a security hold of $300. I put money aside specifically for this and no where, including our 30+ waiting time, were we told about a security hold. I didn't have enough money on my card to do this. My partner, who was with me, then had to go in and do the Driver's licence etc all over again so we could finally get going. Honestly I want all of my money back. It was absolutely ridiculous. I am a customer support manager and if an employee or my company dealt this way I would be embarrassed.

I had some trepidation because the last rental with QEEQ was not available at the selected location and I had to spend hours going out to the airport to pick up the care but the price was good enough that I decided to try again and had a great experience and received a very nice BMW to drive.

Great staff and drop off

The car's gas tank was really weird, the pump kept stopping abruptly as if it were full even though it was at half a tank. i think i managed to fill it up all the way though

Had to get a one way rental from Chicago to Mass. Had to go all the way downtown from airport. Woman at pick up was sick and should have been home. Car was brand new but blocked in and has to wait to get it out of tight spot by myself.

Budget called me two days before my pick up date that they did not have the model of the car that I had booked. They then tried to push a “luxury” model on me for $700 more than my booking price. I told them no thank you, canceled my booking with them (which wasted about 2 hours of my time), and made alternate arrangements.

I rented a subcompact car (Kia Rio) for 3:00 p.m, and the cost came out to $86 and change. I arrived at about 3:05 - 3:10 and was told, "We were supposed to be closed at 3:00 and since you came late, we only have a minivan." A much larger, and less fuel-efficient vehicle than I had requested. After filling up the tank, and returning the minivan, I got the emailed receipt and realized that I was charged $107. So I spent more on gas, and was charged more for a vehicle that I had not even requested in the first place. The van (Chrysler Pacifica) itself was very clean, and equipped with some nice features. Best CarPlay implementation I've seen thus far, and the lane assist was a good touch.

They initially didn’t have a car for us and told us they wouldn’t honor our reservation if the previous renter extended their reservation (which they did), which would have left our family stranded in Chicago. At one point they told us they didn’t have any cars available (which was weird because their lot seemed full of cars. To their credit, after pleading with the manager he agreed to give us a Prius, which we accepted. The whole experience was stressful. Although they were able to get us a car, I’ll never use Budget again

The undisclosed manager's special's vehicle was a full size pick-up truck - a Dodge 1500 - much to my surprise. The daily rental cost was a great value for the money, but the cost of fuel was substantially higher than I had budgeted, given that I was anticipating a vehicle with a much smaller engine at this price point. The initial QR code I was given to exit the parking garage in the Chicago Loop also did not work, leading me to remain stuck for several minutes at the exit gate until I was able to get through to a human being at Hertz and explain my situation. The second QR code I was given opened the gate immediately. The 1500.Dodge Ram was offered at an extremely low daily for this make and model of truck, though I was not expecting to drive such a large vehicle in and out of downtown Chicago where parking for vehicles of this size can sometimes be difficult, not to mention the savings I earned from lower rental costs were offset by the costs of refueling a vehicle that only averaged 17 mpg.

Flawless experience from start to finish! Knowledgable and capable front desk employees who politely (and successfully) strived to help. When I asked one of the vehicle cleaning crew for a paper towel to wipe the water droplets from from the mirrors of my freshly washed car, instead he gently insisted on wiping down the mirrors and windows for me! Vehicle was clean, in new condition, and a joy to drive. Return was lightning fast. I will be back to this location the next time I need a vehicle rental! Thank you Hertz!
