There were no cars available other than Teslas and hertz was unable to honor the kayak rate with the Tesla. It was a wasted Uber ride to this location as they claimed they were unable to contact me since I booked third party and they didn’t have my contact info! Bad experience

I am writing about a recent experience I had with Hertz rental. I had rented a Tesla with the Alamo heights location. When I picked up the car, I noticed the dashboard said tire pressure low, and I brought it to your agents attention, but I was told that the sensor was broken. I asked if I could get another car or the sensor issue could be fixed, but they said that was the only car available and I had to drive a week with a broken tire sensor. For the week that I had the car, the tire pressure kept going down (from 29 to 21psi, when the standard is 41) and I had to stop multiple times to check the tire pressure and go back to the Alamo heights rental location to check whether the tire was indeed deflated. Your agents never fixed the broken sensor issue, and I had to drive worrying about a real or fake flat tire. This made our trip in San Antonio very stressful as we were traveling with a baby and safety was our priority. We kept worrying that we would be found with a flat tire in the middle of the road in a city far away from home. This experience made me have doubts about renting from Hertz in the future. When traveling to another city, I need a reliable, safe car more than at home. Hertz was not able to provide me with a reliable car.

I initially booked with one Hertz location in San Antonio and received a call the week before pickup that I would need to pick up the vehicle at another Hertz location. On the day of my arrival, I went to the pickup location and they manager sent me to yet another pickup location. Hertz did provide a Lyft to this second location, however, once I arrived, the location was closed (not even open that day). I then had to travel to a 3rd Hertz location that day, at the SAT airport. The pickup process at the airport was horrible and took over 2 hours! I had already prepaid the cost when I initially booked and the attendants could not figure out how to process my rental. Eventually they used handwritten paper rental documents because they said they could not use the computer system because I prepaid. Absolutely horrendous experience that took a total of over 3 hours, while with 2 small children!

The representative at the office is very mischievous. While I was there she called someone to let her know she forgot her driver's license. My mind I said let me make sure she gives me all my credit cards and license back. I asked her for the key for the car she told me she gave it to me I said no you didn't she said yes she did. I walked to the car search my purse and I had no keys. I walked back to the office to get the key then the guy came out and said he had it this is a game they play. When I went back to turn the car in I stopped and got $5 of gas. The representative asked me did I want a receipt and I said yes she said oh I have to take this fee off it'll only take a second. And I said what fee she said the fee for not putting gas I said I put gas she said I know that's why I'm going to take it off. I said why would you put it on there if you didn't know if I put gas or not she said well I could track you and see you then go anywhere so I assume you didn't put gas I said why would you assume. She said she tracked my car and said I didn't go anywhere and I said if you track my car you start putting gas. Again it's my belief if I had not asked for a receipt she would have added an extra charge on my bill when I asked for a receipt she knew that I would recognize her overcharging me for something I didn't get. I also believe if she's the manager of this site you need a new manager.

Louie, the manager, is awesome. Avis is always great, never gives me any issues, accepts my debit card with an out of state DL, I'm military so that works out well. The check-in process is so easy and not cumbersome or complicated. Additionally, I needed to extend my rental agreement another week; too easy. I called them up and Louie helped me once again and made it a smooth event. Plus, it was the cheapest I could find that wouldn't charge me hundreds of dollars in additional fees. I received a great 4-door, nice rental car too. Never ever had any issues with Avis. I'm a loyal customer FOR-EVER.
