The vehicle had an expired inspection sticker, a maintenance needed message popped up early in the week, one front tire had a terrible shimmy, and one seat was ripped. I can live with that, but they hit us with a no-show fee the day after we picked up the vehicle and they are resistant to reversing the fee on a vehicle that we picked up.

It was an okay experience. The woman at the counter was great. My issues came with the reservation and the trash left in the vehicle. I reserved a large truck, and when I got there was told there wasn’t one. I had to take a small truck and was luckily able to make it work for my application. They discounted the rental and that helped. There were a handful (5-6) old rental packets in the glove compartment/center console and we found bits of food under the seat. Vehicle was newer and drove well. We will rent from them again.

I was charged for gas despite filling it 2 miles from airport, getting the fuel shutoff twice which indicated to me it was full and gauge showing full. Not okay and I cancelled our reservation for a week later and used National. Actions have consequences, I emailed the company and had no reply so bye bye Budget, I respond by taking my business elsewhere.
Pickup was great. Very professional. Drop off not so much

Quick and easy pickup and return. The clerk was friendly and had my papers ready to go. (This was partly due to the light activity in the terminal at the time, but, in the past, I have had poor service from other rental agencies with the same airport conditions.)

Desk staff were friendly & helpful. Online tools for reservation management, both web & app, were pretty much useless. Online customer assistance tools were equally useless. Speaking to an actual customer service human costs $30. Rates were deceptively presented nearly to the point of fraud, and in the end unreasonably high compared to competitors. Provided vehicle was in poor repair, with warped brake rotors and a totally worn out suspension. Would not recommend, will not rent a vehicle through Hertz again.

Attempting to manage/ cancel/ edit my reservation was an absolute nightmare. I got bounced around to 3 different companies and call centers only to find out that there was nothing I could do to cancel the reservation. Definitely won't be using Kayak ever again.

I was directed to go to the Hertz counter next to Dollar’s counter, and the reps at Hertz were awesome. They were courteous, informative and professional!!
90 min for car to be ready, even tho my reservation was for 3 hours earlier.. bottlenecks cleaning car

I paid for a mid sized SUV and instead was given a car no bigger than a sedan. My whole goal in paying TRIPLE the price for an suv was to feel safer while driving in the snow (there was a major snowstorm while I was there). When I complained at the counter, the lady said there was nothing she could do even though there were bigger SUVs available in the lot. Instead, I slid and slipped multiple times and was terrified I’d get into an accident. It was traumatic.

Poorly staffed, huge backup at pickup counter. Apparently they did not have staff to clean returns. After waiting almost an hour we chose to take a "dirty" car just to get out of there. The counter staff was pleasant, felt bad for them having to deal with the situation.

The car wasn’t really dirty but could have been a bit cleaner, especially the inside of the windshield. That said, overall I was happy with my experience with Avis at the Burlington VT airport, the car, and personnel. I’d rent from them again.

The additional fees that I incurred were outrageous. Almost $500 for renting a 4 cylinder non-luxury vehicle. I’m sickened by the price and will never use Avis again after their lack of communication, and uncalled for prices. It was not worth the money.
