Vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke and chemical. Gave me and my wife headaches. Returned early and went to another company.

I was charged a fee of $150 for leaving two peanuts on the floor. I offered to pick them up and was threatened with additional fees.

Was surprised at the hour-long wait to get to the rental desk, but that was a problem beyond the control of Budget (overall shortage of rental cars due to earlier Covid cutbacks). We got one of the last vehicles on the lot, a minivan from another state, in lieu of the compact we had reserved. But the tires were nearly bald, the car had multiple scrapes and scratches, it had over 40,000 miles, the latch on a drawer in the centerpiece was broken and it banged every time I accelerated or braked (I taped it up eventually to stop the banging). The console display would work at times and not at others. Then, on the morning I was returning it, the flat tire warning signal lit up (fortunately the tire did not appear to be flat, visually at least). We were glad to be able to have a vehicle, but this one needs to be either sold off or fixed up.
