When we showed up to the airport we found out that the rental car place was not even located at the airport and we had to wait at a shuttle stop for a half hour only for nobody to show up. Then when we called there they said they were out of car rentals. So we had to find another car rental place at the last minute and everywhere was almost booked out. We found one place left and had to pay an absurd price because it was the day of. NEVER BOOK with this place. We heard this happened to many other people too.

Worst experience I could imagine! After dealing with the girl giving me attitude when only calling to arrange the shuttle, to find out that they’re no longer in business? What?! No responsibility or apology, just told “they should have emailed you”.

Scammed me. They canceled my same-day return reservation upon my arrival. Never gave me an advanced notification that it was not possible for their alleged inventory issues. Brings up the question of why continue to offer their service if they are aware of this ongoing issue? I have tried to contact them throughout the month after the incident to follow up with my refund to which I am greeted with voicemails and never a call back. Do not use this company. Poor customer service, poor online marketing (great for scamming), and poor communication.

Bad customer service, indifferent attitude, overcommitting their vehicles, and then simply not having a car for you - will tell you that they do not honor the reservation you made on Kayak, they only honor reservations you make on their website.

We got in a little late and the gentlemen at the counter was very kind and patient to wait for us to get things organized. He was supposed to close the counter and stayed open a little later for us. I don't remember his name but do remember he was from Massachusetts. Getting the car was super quick as well.

The evening male Long Beach staff member was particularly good to work with. Everything from checkout to return was fast and easy. There was a problem with the passenger side front seat belt, but the company was willing to handle it. In the end, we just "lived with it" for the few hours left.

Really appreciated how easy and fast the car reservation process was, both online and in-person when we arrived. Friendly and helpful agents, everything was smooth at check-in and check-out. We were grateful that they were open at 3 am when we arrived at the airport! Hours of operation, plus friendly and professional customer service made for an overall positive experience.

The pick up process was against aggravating, for some reason they were asking for two forms of picture ID, and at the end ended up accepting a non picture ID as my second form of ID. They angered me for no reason. So right off the start I regret renting with these people. I rent cars often and this was the first time this has happened, must be a budget thing… so never again

When I made the reservation, I was told the cost expected at pick was over $300 cheaper than I 2qs told Athens I checked in. This was a huge setback for my and it cost me not only hours of my time but more financial resources.

We rented a car at Budget. The shuttle picked us up at the airport and took us straight to the car rental facility. Our car was brand new and very clean. We had a similar experience for drop off and everyone rode comfortably and safely. I will definitely rent from Budget again.

I was denied a car because I did not have a foreign license. I booked while I was overseas and but have an American license. They refused to give me a car. Then I had to go through a long process to try to get the money back. Still have not received it and it’s been nearly 1 month. Will never book with Avis/Budget again.

At pick up the guy at the counter wanted me to rebook because I have a California Driver’s license even though I got the car rental with my booking with British Airways and when I told him I live in the UK he doubled down. I showed him my UK driver’s license and itinerary confirming I was returning to the UK. He begrudgingly had to give me what I had already paid for and didn’t bother telling me there was a QR code to expedite exit instead I had to get in a very long queue. On return the attendants to receiver the car were very nice and helpful however the process of closing the booking involved having to wait in queue with people who were picking up their cars and then when I finally got the counter the guy didn’t know what to do and had to ask for help from his manager.

Never even got to get a rental.. Paid through kayak and was told using a third party was a big mistake by Dollar. They wanted a $500 deposit bc I had a debit card. Ended up losing money and using a different car service called Turo.

We arrived at 12:30am and, along with several other customers, to discover they had no cars despite all of us having reservations. They locked the doors & wouldn’t talk to us for awhile, then told us all to come back the next day. We had to take an Uber 45 minutes to and from our hotel. Will not use them again- terrible customer service. What is the point if a reservation if they don’t hold a car for you!?

We reserved a Mustang convertible ( or similar ) but were told that none were available. We could upgrade to a premium convertible, which we agreed to, but were then told that because we didn’t have a paper copy of our car insurance policy, we couldn’t rent it. We were then told that a convertible WAS available, so we lugged our luggage to the space only to find it empty. No one was in the car area (it was now 11:45 pm). We lugged our luggage back to the office and the manager couldn’t be located, but we were told that there was a BMW convertible available. Back we went, loaded our luggage into the car, but the roof was not working. An employee tried to assist us, but was unable to get it to work…after consulting the owners manual and multiple attempts. We were then given the choice of a sedan. We left the airport rental facility at 12:30 am, exhausted and disappointed! Doesn’t matter to Thrifty what type of vehicle you “reserve” and pre-pay for!! NEVER AGAIN!!! Done with Thrifty!!!

They booked me a rental at a location that was closed the day that I was scheduled to pick up. There other location was out of cars and I would not be able to pick up the car I booked for 3 days since it was a holiday weekend. I booked this rental months in advance and had to go to the only other company that had any cars available and pay nearly $400 more. They refunded me but it didn’t even come close to covering what their mistake cost me. I will never book a car with Hertz again or through a third party.
