When arriving at airport called number for shuttle to pick up only to be told the company went out of business stranding me at the airport with no rental and offered no help. Didn't receive any prior notice that they went out of business so I could make alternate arrangements

They are open limited hours with no after hours option so if your flight is delayed you’ll be left stranded, as I was. Not worth the cheaper price.

The rep up charged us and wouldn’t honor the price of the quote even though I showed her the email confirmation and itinerary. She was very rude and pushy - poor customer service. On top of not honoring the price she tried to charge us for 3 days when we only needed it for 2 days. Will never use Ace/Mex Rent A Car again.

When we showed up to the airport we found out that the rental car place was not even located at the airport and we had to wait at a shuttle stop for a half hour only for nobody to show up. Then when we called there they said they were out of car rentals. So we had to find another car rental place at the last minute and everywhere was almost booked out. We found one place left and had to pay an absurd price because it was the day of. NEVER BOOK with this place. We heard this happened to many other people too.

Worst experience I could imagine! After dealing with the girl giving me attitude when only calling to arrange the shuttle, to find out that they’re no longer in business? What?! No responsibility or apology, just told “they should have emailed you”.

Scammed me. They canceled my same-day return reservation upon my arrival. Never gave me an advanced notification that it was not possible for their alleged inventory issues. Brings up the question of why continue to offer their service if they are aware of this ongoing issue? I have tried to contact them throughout the month after the incident to follow up with my refund to which I am greeted with voicemails and never a call back. Do not use this company. Poor customer service, poor online marketing (great for scamming), and poor communication.

Bad customer service, indifferent attitude, overcommitting their vehicles, and then simply not having a car for you - will tell you that they do not honor the reservation you made on Kayak, they only honor reservations you make on their website.

The evening male Long Beach staff member was particularly good to work with. Everything from checkout to return was fast and easy. There was a problem with the passenger side front seat belt, but the company was willing to handle it. In the end, we just "lived with it" for the few hours left.

The price was exactly what they said it would be, no hidden fees or "upgrades". They had the car they promised me and got me in and out in minutes. Drop off and pick was quick and painless. Will use them again.

Pick up was a mess. Off site location from off site car rental center makes it difficult. There is not much of signage to aid in finding the shuttle stop which is uncovered and curbside up away from the regular players in car rental companies. I had the option of texting or calling do I started to text and got an auto reply to send my contract I’d so had to go fish that out and reply. Once I did send was meet with no reply for shuttle. So zi call for a shuttle- phone just rings and rings. I hang up and call back. I get a “ please hol” am left on hold for 42 minutes. By the stroke of luck the shuttle happenstances to arrive as other customers must have luckily been able to get through. Once at the busy little hanger of a rental counter I explain my peril , which falls on deaf ears when I mention they could sooth out by offering an extra day or a rental class upgrade. Gentleman just says that’s not in his power and would have to do through corporate.- do hear you have it. On a positive note - car was neatly brand new and well appointed and drop off checkin was excellent as the agent even personally drove me back to my destination.

Horrible service. I was notified that they don’t do same day rental after I booked online and arrived at the facility. That being the case, kayak should not advertise with this vendor and take them completely off their site. I was stranded without a car!

A disclaimer that we'd have to take 2 shuttles to get to the rental car venue would have been helpful to know ahead of time.

At Sd airport you have to take the airport shuttle to another shuttle which took like 45 min in total to get 1/2 mile away from the airport. In addition, we were asked to pay an additional $20 to be dropped directly off at our gate which again was ~0.5 mile or less away from the airport. Won’t use them again.

I said I’d pick-up at 5:00 PM. We arrived at 5:20 PM slowed by heavy traffic and the office was closed!! Very disappointed! Could not pickup next day, Had to leave San Diego at 6:00 AM!

Made 5 pm reservation and no one there to pick up car. Contacted service was no help as hung up on me 2 times and never called back and wasn’t able to help as tried to transfer to airport at almost 3 x the price and didn’t responsibility for car not available at time requested. They didn’t contact me at number to come earlier if they were not going to be there.

If you don't mind spending around $30 round trip for taxi fare to get to this place from the Rental Car Center, you will receive around 60% discount from Avis fares at the Center. Good service, nice people!

The rental car olace eas not at the airport. I had no way of knowing that and spent alot of extra money on uber rides. Huge headache and very bad experience. You need a huge disclaimer that says no transportation avsilable to and from rental car place.

When I booked a box truck online it was listed at $28/day with 800 miles for my rental period of 5 days. When I arrived at the office, after walking a mile (no shuttle service), I was told it was 99 cents per mile. No mileage included. I felt like it was a bait and switch. The agent wasn't even nice about it. He said online booking information was wrong. I left and called an Uber to get me to my destination. Really disappointed.
