This was my first time renting a car, and besides the wait to pick up a car at the beginning, I had a very easy time as a first time car renter. Customer service was very nice at pickup and drop off and for the car I got, the price was very reasonable.
It was the worst experience I have ever had with renting a car. I did not request an electric vehicle but ended up with one without any instructions on how electric vehicles work or how to recharge if you have to. The care was not charged all the way so it could not even make it to my destination which was only 3 1/2 hour trip. It took me a total of 9 hours to get home due to having to find a charging station and having to sit for a couple hours in the blazing Sun while it charge only enough to make it home!!!! Do not rent an electric car if you have never used one in the past. It was an absolute terrible experience 😢😢😢 and I lost out on a paying job since it took me 5.5 extra wasted hours of my time.

The women that helped me was so very friendly. They were still cleaning the vehicle from the prior renter. She offered me a seat and we had a very friendly chat for the 5 or so minutes it took to finish up the cleaning.

I thought I was renting a car at the San Jose airport, but it turned out that it was a small facility off airport that cost me $40 to get to by taxi. The airport Hertz was not willing to do anything for me except rent me a car at walk-up rates (at least twice what I had prepaid), and not even give me credit for the prepaid amount. They said I could get it back from the "company". Yes, same company. Very unhelpful while he was telling me how he would accomodate me. I didn't have any reason to suspect that the car I was renting was not at the airport, as I am not familiar with the addresses in that area.

I had inadvertently chose to pick up the vehicle away from the airport. The Hertz desk at the airport was unable to change the reservation to the airport because I originally booked through Kayak. I was able to get a new reservation (at a price that was tripled what I originally booked) through the Hertz employee. He also suggested that I call and cancel my original reservation for a refund. I understand that mistakes happen, but this is the second time the counter employee can’t help me because I didn’t book through them directly. The price was excellent through Kayak, but I was left in the rain at the airport without a car because of my error. I wish Kayak would work with the businesses to avoid these issues.

Our initial car had a mechanical/electrical issue with the driver’s door. We were able to exchange cars at another facility. There was also a billing error which was corrected when we returned the car at the airport. They made it good in the end.

The first car I received was infested with Ants. I didn't realize that until I was way down the road. I called and the allowed me to return it. No problem which was great. It did mess up up my schedule while I was there as I didn't account for returning a vehicle. The customer service was great.

Just needed a little more explanation on charges since I bought insurance through kayak and it seems like they charge me again. Also, it would be nice if the counter people are aware of the type of car that is in inventory. That is, know the features. I upgraded since I was told there is apple car play in the car so I can use the GPS. Apparently, there isn't.

Enterprise is the worst company ever. I tried to rent 2 cars in one location. At least after rent confirmation I got a call that they have no such cars. On another location I've been told that they don't have such car and it is not their problem. I lost time and money to get there, but managers just locked at their office. Enterprise does not exist for me anymore.

The car that’s I was given was much better than the one I ordered.
The clerk was very friendly, personable and attentive. But, as he was claiming the vehicle we agreed upon, someone else in the system claimed before he could. Instead of telling me this, he assigned me a different car we didn't discuss. We were heading to a graduation, & I didn't have time to go downstairs and get a different car. I had my elderly parents with me, & the car we got was uncomfortable. We were not happy, & the right thing to do is to train your people to be honest with clients, and do your best to meet their needs.

This was worst rental car experience I've ever had. I would never use Dollar again and I will not rent a car through Kayak again. First, they said they didn't have a car. Then, they tried to double charge me when I had already paid upfront. They wouldn't let me pay the deposit using debit card, and even after I told them I paid for the car in advance, they charged me an additional $38 for some type of fee, so I paid nearly $100 to rent a compact vehicle for 1 day! They also made me wait over an hour for a vehicle and I was not the only one! Look online: All the reviews are horrible! They tried to say people stole the cars! Obvious lie! There is security to get in and out of there. No way. Absolute nightmare! Don't use this company, and don't use kayak. I paid for the car upfront for a reason. I should've only had to pay a deposit in addition.

Total scam on the coverage!!! We paid $1000 for our 10 day rental and at the time of pick up were told the insurance was not included and that would be an additional $39 per day minimum. Plus all these extra taxes and fees we were stuck with a $700 bill on top of the $1000. There is no way their coverage is worth $40 per day for the baseline. We could have paid less money at a nicer rental car company and not had to stand in line for an hour and a half to get our car at pick up. Terrible experience.

I recommend everyone to avoid this place. They did not let us check out the car and didn’t let me speak with the manager. They also refused to ask the manager call me back and said that they were sold out! Avoid!
