We had to go to another rental company at last second and could not even rent with Alamo. Costing a lot more than what I had reserved and a different vehicle that was not suited for us.

I actually rented from Alamo twice in Oahu and I rented from Thrifty in Kauai. The difference is night and day between the two. Customer service, quality and cleanliness of the car, clear terms of cost were all more than I expected from a car rental company. I’m still fighting with Thrifty over unfair charges. I don’t know if all Alamos are created equal but I highly recommend Oahu airport Alamo!!!
Everything was great except rental cars in Hawaii are too expensive now (all companies, not just Alamo).
