The young man that checked me in was courteous and so was his female coworkers. I signed for a full tank of gas without having been shown the car and was told it was on full and had to be returned that was. It definitely was not at full but I wanted to get in my way. The car was 2 months and 5,000 miles over the last oil change and service. When I returned the car, the less than polite manager named Francky finally came to help me after having been verbally reprimanding an employee so the lobby could hear it. We went to the car and when he opened it he said “it’s a non smoking car sir” i said, okay and told him I don’t even smoke cigarettes but nice try. He said he smelled smoke and I told him he did not and neither did I and then proceeded to show him that there’s isn’t even anything on that car that says you can’t smoke so even if I did, it’s not marked anywhere. He then “bargained” with me to pay a $250 fee or a lesser fee of $161. I obviously wanted to pay less even though I said I’d fight it. He was so condescending and rude and had no business dealing with customers. I told him this was fraud and theft and a complete scam. I later checked my account and what should have been a $172 charge for a rental and $161 smoking fee and my bank has a hold of over $800 currently from Easirent. This has completely ruined my vacation and I’m still nervous and anxious as I await the outcome of this disgusting situation. I went to Yelp and was blown away at all the negative reviews and how many of them specifically reference Francky and this exact behavior. Im surprised that 3rd party companies use this business as it has repeatedly abused your customers and taken full advantage of them financially and seemingly without punitive measures. I ask that you look into this matter and help prevent further patrons from being taken advantage of. Thank you.
