Customer service was terrible. Typically use Avis, but after the woman told me maybe I should “just call Uber”, and offered no helpful insight other than sending me on a goose chase to every competitor. Finally the NEW EMPLOYEE explained the situation and fixed everything. He was great, but the woman with no personality and terrible customer service/sarcasm should have stayed home. Last year, cars were being thrown at me to travel and run covid units. This year I was spoken down to and ridiculed…. Despite having a one way flight coming home from the hurricane I drove away from last month. People are just rude and she was the worst part of my experience from start to finish, Hurricane and cancelled flights included.

Price phenomenal Customer service at that jax location by kay was phenomenal Car was a great car but lacking maintenance. Had mechanical problems and front glass was full of glue from stickers removed at sime point and glue never removed. Return was phenomenal too Easy and very fast
I waited in line over 1 hour and 15 minutes for pick up. Totally unacceptable! Drop off was a breeze.

Hour wait in line to sign papers/get car assigned. I’m not sure if they were having computer issues or what . There was a super long line with five or six people behind the counter, but only two to three helping people. Then another 20 min wait to get the car delivered. First car they brought had maintenance and tire light on. They asked if I wanted a different one??? The other guy said that car needs to be taken out of service. He then gives me a Chevy Malibu that had two dings in the hood and some marks on the driver side door and window frame. They told me to take pictures and hold on to them for 30 days and made note on the paperwork. Overall a very frustrating experience. Not an efficient system. Not sure I’ll rent from them again. In the past, with other companies, I sign paperwork and am told which car to get in parking lot.

Once fees and insurance (which is often required) is added in, the cost is about double what I was quoted. Also, the line at the rental car booth at JAX airport was insane. Had to wait in line for 1hr 20min, which was a very frustrating experience. Didn't have any issues with the car itself though.

Hidden fees and vehicle was dirty smelled like cigarettes and beat up
terrible pick up. 3 people in front of me in line and it took over 30 minutes to pick up a car. 4 people behind the counter, not many working very hard. they gave me a chevy ev -- terrible instructions on how and where to charge it. spent 3 hours messing around charging for driving all of 97 miles. terrible experience, will not use hertz again.

Picking up the car was a nightmare. The line was long, the attendants were inattentive and unapologetic. When the attendants could not help me with a very simple matter, I had to call the company who tried to upsell me at least five times. Then I had to finish the transaction at the desk. The attendant mumbled while trying to upsell me at least five more times. I finally had to call my husband over so we could both listen and be on guard for being taken advantage of. This is my second back experience with Hertz. I believe it's not just bad luck, it's bad company practices. I will be switching to a different car rental service.

I received an electric car which I did NOT ask for, they said the car was charged to 85% when it was barely charged to 15% which almost left us stranded trying to get to our hotel. I was charged twice. Once when I booked it and again when I picked it up and I told her that and she brushed it off.

Having a car would have been nice…! Not even the place I have rent didn’t advised me before I went there that they actually didn’t have any car available for me, they have transferred me to another Hertz location 10miles further telling me that they had plenty of cars and they would accept my rental confirmation code… well, this place didn’t has any car either!! When the customer service person called the other person to say « why haven’t you verified with me 1st? » he answered that we went there by our own and that he never said that they had car for us!!! Not enough to put my plans off, they also make us waste precious vacations time and money! I called when I came back asking if they could at least have a car ready for me for the next morning and they said they couldn’t guarantee… that ppl could extend their car rental so they couldn’t guarantee a car…!!!! Really?? How can you manger a business like that? Then he told me that the rental was canceled and I had to redo one!! He tried to make a rese For me as I was so upset and he kept me online for a half of hour for finally telling me that he couldn’t do it, I had to reso the a whole process online myself. Not even Hertz will never have my business, but Kayak either (was my first and last experience).

It was difficult to reach the staff who n the phone prior to pick up and prior to drop off. I am not at all comfortable returning the car without someone checking me out. When I did reach someone to ask about dropping it off, I was told they have a 24 hour shuttle. However, it is Wally Park’s shuttle, from whom Easirent leases space and the driver was not at all happy about taking Easirent customers to the airport, claiming the don’t pay for it. Additionally, the shuttle driver this morning also claimed that Easirent ran out of reserved cars, Saturday and Sunday, leaving people with paid car reservations and no car, even though they had a reservation and had paid. Many people apparently were very very unhappy. I say “claimed” because he complained all the way to the airport and I have no way to verify it. With the main offices in the UK, somebody needs to be responsible for what happens here. I will not be renting from Easirent again in spite of their having low rates.
Not good... we didn't take a car from thrifty because the SUV which we reserved ended up being an electric sedan... not again with this company

When I went to pick up my car, the rental agency did not have any cars, even though I had a reservation well in advance. They said possibly the next day. I then had to take a $200 taxi to my destination. Still without a car. Who do I contact for reimbursement to cover the hundreds of dollars I spent on Ubers and taxis?

I thought Thrifty did well. I paid for insurance through Kayak. Was told at the counter that the insurance provided by Kayak was only liability. Frustrated by the lack of clarity on what was provided and by whom.
Arrived at airport, no one at Payless counter. Avis was handling Payless rentals. About a 2-3 hour wait to get car as lines were extremely long. Completely unacceptable as we had to be somewhere for a job, so we were never able to pick up our rental.

The staff at the Jacksonville location were very rude. Charged for prepaid fill up, without going over the disclosures. When I stated I wanted to decline, the woman stated, “ you don’t need to get confrontational.” She did not say anything about charging for gas. This is all after I stood at the counter for 10 minutes while she was on her phone and I was the only one there. Very disappointed. I will do whatever I have to to avoid ever using Payless again.
