Charged an extra day we did not book or use and a drop off fee that was not included in the contract. Extremely dishonest marketing.

Truly some of the most woeful customer experience I have experienced. Upon pick up - the single staff member was beyond rude and unhelpful about all aspects of his job. He could not explain the rental agreement, point me to the car, or walk the car with me for damages. Upon drop off in Bergen, there was not staff to drop the car off too, and days after the drop off, they tried to charge me for a ding that was already on the car despite never walking the car with me. I would never use Hertz again after this experience.

Awful. I was charged multiple additional fees. Hertz charged me a one-way fee that was not in the original contract, as well as a recharging fee that was never communicated on the front end. The gas tank was at 7/8 when I received it, filled it to 7/8 and was charged a gas filling fee. I was also charged an extra $45 administration fee a week later. I will never use Hertz again.

Everything was excellent except the drop off at the Bergen Airport. There are no signs to indicate rental car return until after one turns toward long term parking. (Then there are ample signs.). We didn’t know the rental return was in the long term parking. Our GPS was not helpful. We circled the Airport three times and asked people in the area three times. Only after going to the Hertz counter in the terminal did we learn where the return was located. Otherwise, we were very happy with the car and with Hertz.

Very Good|Aug 2022
Good experience overall: the car was great, the staff members at the pickup area were friendly and helpful, and the price was good too. Main area for improvement: the drop-off area (which was a self-service kiosk) was very, very difficult to find! The drop off area was in a parking garage and there were no signs outside or inside the parking garage to direct us to the kiosk. We eventually stumbled upon it after about an hour of searching (and asking locals for assistance). The kiosk itself did not provide any further instruction on where to park the car, which necessitated another 15 minutes or so of stumbling around to find a few (marked, but barely) spots nearby.
