Good: Food was great for airline food, above expectations. Crew was all kind. I'd comment on entertainment options but as it was technically a United flight, it was a United-branded system so might not reflect what's on ANA. Good Japanese media selection though, including J-dramas and anime. Bad: As it was not actually an ANA plane, but a United plane, the legroom was pretty abysmal, only compounded by the fact I was assigned a seat that A) had more limited legroom than other seats in the row due to machinery being under the seat and B) the gentleman sitting next to me consistently took up space from the seat in front of me, meaning I only actually had a HALF of a seat in front of me to relax my legs. B) isn't something the airline can help but given my leg length it was unbearable. I'd legitimately have gotten off midflight if I could, or upgraded midflight. Plus, ANA has footrests on international flights for economy.... which United DOES NOT have. From now on, I would suggest ANA clarify what is meant when another airline is operating "their" flights. It was not at all clear that it was basically another airline entirely - to be frank, I am uncertain why it was advertised as ANA. It was United staff, United plane, United everything. I bought tickets *FOR ANA*, not FOR UNITED.

Great! It was my first time flying with ANA and it was great! I will definitely fly with them again.

One of the cabin attendants looked as if they had recruited a line boy. His hair was long and shaggy and he had several days stubble. His tie was tucked into his shirt, and he kept his glasses hanging from his shirt pocket. He made mistakes on requests immediately after the request was made: "Chicken or beef?", "Beef." He immediately delivered chicken. He was also quite loud, heard five or six rows away. This was a code-share flight between ANA, which we wanted, and United, which we got. This flight compared very badly with an ANA flight we took from LAX to Japan several years ago. Will not use United again.

Business class seats are uncomfortable. Sitting for 14 hours hurts my behind. They don't prepare varieties of snacks for in between meals. The lady forgot my coffee.
