Car Hire in North Carolina

Staff was friendly, but the car was not ready at the reserved pick up time. I waited for an hour and a half for them to look up my reservation & clean my vehicle. They even called the previous day to confirm my 2 o’clock reservation, which I’d made a month before, but I could not drive off the lot until 3:45. I even heard one employee tell another they weren’t super busy that day, but they “were steady all day.” Every time I’ve picked up a vehicle from Enterprise at a non-airport location, it’s never been ready when it’s supposed to be. It is clear that Enterprise’s business model is to overbook & understaff. They offered me a pathetic 15% off on a future rental when I returned the vehicle. I am extremely unimpressed with Enterprise.

I didn't like that when I got there I couldn't get the car I needed so desperately to get to my family's funeral because I dint have a credit card and yet it never said anything about that when I reserved it! Luckily I found else where!

They listed cars for rent that they did not have. And the manager of the store was extremely rude about it

Didn't disclose $100 cancelation fee. Especially for a simple mistake. Don't worry it will never happen again. Will NEVER USE YOUR SERVICES AGAIN!!!

It took the staff at least 30 minutes to find a car that they deemed convenient to rent me. I made a reservation a couple days in advance for a one-way rental. They seemed surprised when I arrived right on time for may reservation and went through their entire inventory to find a car they were willing to give me for the one-way trip. It was very annoying and took entirely too long, especially since I had a reservation that specified it was a one-way rental.

Please refer to Hertz Customer Care Case # 19206313 I have filed a complaint about the location and it was not resolved to my satisfaction. I will never rent from Hertz again

Was charged for fuel (3 gallons) when I returned the car topped off. Completely unsatisfactory!

Dollar rental has a policy where they do a credit check just for a rental, I’ve rented plenty of vehicles before from rental places and was never asked to do a credit check. This policy needs to be updated on third-party sites as well to inform customers in the future.

Everything went well with the car. The lady at the desk was AMAZING!

It was a very comfortable ride. The van had good pick up when needed and overall I was pleased with it. I would recommend some type of step or running board along the entrance on the side because some of my family, who are 55 to 70, had issues stepping up and stepping down so far out of the van. A stepstool, even, would’ve been great.

Absolutely horrible. They put greed over honoring a contract and almost completely ruined a trip for my scout group so they could make More money for the vehicle

After confirming reservation and express check in we received an email hours before we were to pick up the vehicles saying they did not have our vehicles and wouldn’t have them u til the 7th. After calling we were told that the Charlotte airport Avis had one we could rent for $6000 over $5000 over our reservation price. After arguing for several hours about them not honoring the agreement we were told we could go to Charlotte to get the vehicle at the agreed upon prices. When we arrived there we were told we only had 1. The. We were told we had to go to we had to go to the concord location because they did i fact have 1. After 5 hours of lies, runaround, arguing, and demanding they honor the contract we had the vehicles needed for our trip.

My original reservation had my pick up location in North Carolina with a drop off in Las Vegas. I picked up the vehicle for my original reservation in Hickory, North Carolina on Thursday, August 10th at 5:00pm. It was a Ford Expedition (Avis Car Number 97345824). As soon as I get home, I noticed that the license plate was expired so I called and was directed to roadside assistance. They scheduled a replacement vehicle and a Chrysler Voyager was delivered. Avis Car Number 52549291. That car was not delivered to me in hickory until 12:30am, Friday morning. Delaying the use of my rental car the until the following day. After being replaced with a minivan, as opposed to the vehicle I originally reserved, my family and I were forced to make do with the new accommodations. The rear cargo space is not near the same size as we had with the prior Ford Expedition. So we had to have luggage on some of our laps, for a cross country trip. In addition to the size, it is not nearly as luxurious as the car I reserved and paid for. Furthermore, upon driving the next day, the Low Engine Oil light came on. Which forced me to call roadside assistance again and schedule a second replacement vehicle near Kansas City, Missouri. So once again, we were not able to drive our vehicle for hours. A tow truck picked up the Chrysler Voyager and brought us the Jeep Grand Cherokee at 10:00pm that night. Which as you might know, is even smaller than the Chrysler. Before receiving delivery of the Jeep grand Cherokee, the tow truck came to pick up the Chrysler Voyager to return to Avis. Once he picked it up, and before I was delivered my new vehicle, I got an email saying my reservation has been complete. I was charged, in full, after only having the vehicle for less than 24 hours. Upon delivery of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, no new paperwork came along with the vehicle. But apparently a new reservation was opened for a one-way trip from Kansas City, Missouri to Las Vegas, Nevada. So when I delivered the Jeep at my destination in Las Vegas, there was an additional charge for a One Way trip. So after having to deal with all that I have stated above. Having to switch vehicles twice, load, unload and load once again all of our luggage. All of that in addition to not even being able to use the vehicle for hours, for multiple days. And the vehicle I reserved and was charged for I never even drove. I hope you understand my displeasure in the troubles, initially caused by your company and I was hoping to be reimbursed to make things right. I look forward to hearing back from you. The fact that they don’t recognize chime as a suitable bank or form of credit currency is beyond me. Money is money, guess they don’t like it, less business for them.

Showed up and was told same day rental was null and void, never received rental car. This is a scam.

First They overbooked I had to wait for a rental car to come in Some one did arrive 30 minutes later Other people left Finally got paperwork done but The rental person Did Not come out with me to review car He told me just to take pictures I did The car was clean but had small scratches all over car and on passenger side had hit white markers which when I turned in marker on paper that All those scratches and marks were already there The car was ok and not was I asked for but ok Service needs to be addressed When I turned in car one person outside told me one thing and inside person told me another thing They need to get act together My son commented I should have gone to a regular rental because they weren’t professional Also I was charged extra items which later thought I didn’t need $70 more plus rental but it’s over

The car a selected, according to attendant, was not available. They wanted me to take a “premium car” with an additional fee or to call you to cancel the reservation. I never received a car. I ended using UBER for transportation.

Like: The low price/day for the vehicle before adding CDW, Toll Pass, etc. Dislike: Lengthy wait time to rent vehicle (over 30 min). Lack of staff available to perform multiple tasks at once (only 1 staff was at check-in for majority of the time we were there). More than one person complained about the wait time including a women who had waited 40min at shuttle pickup point at airport. Long wait time for shuttle from airport to off-site location (15-20min). There was no information provided to contact shuttle or location to alert them to passengers needing pickup. Lack of explanation of required items, such as declaration page for rental auto insurance.
